Ruby cranberry sauce

It wouldn't be Christmas dinner without it! A simple, low fat, classic cranberry sauce to add some fruity flavour to your roast, it couldn't be easier

Ingredients

  • 100g light soft brown sugar
  • 1 large orange, zested and juiced
  • 250g pack cranberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 tbsp ruby port

Method

  1. Tip all the ingredients into a saucepan. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 mins (or a little longer if the berries are frozen ). Cool, then chill for up to four days or freeze for two months. Serve at room temperature.
