Popular Dubai-based chef Reif Othman has taken to social media this weekend to unveil his latest UAE venture.
The Singapore native opened doors to Reif Japanese Kushiyaki in September 2019 at Jumeirah’s Dar Al Wasl Mall – marking his debut in the restaurant space, serving affordable street food in a distinct Japanese style.
Now, Reif has announced plans for the second Kushiyaki restaurant in the emirate, which is due to open at Nakheel Mall, Palm Jumeirah.
He teased fans on Instagram with his post, saying “If you think you’ve tried everything, think again,” and referred to his latest venture as a “same same, but different” concept to the Dar Al Wasl original.
Stand-out dishes to watch out for include the kushiyaki skewers, plus the popular kimchi melon pickle, beef gyoza two ways, wagyu ‘sando’ sandwich with charcoal panko and tonkatsu sauce and Reif’s twist on Singaporean chicken rice. For dessert, don’t miss the molten cake with peanut butter praline and salted cashews – he tells us its reminiscent of a “warm, oozing Snickers,” which sounds divine!
Details: The Palm Jumeirah branch of Reif Japanese Kushiyaki will join Depachika Food Hall. For updates, follow Reif on Instagram.
