MICHELIN Guide Doha 2025: List revealed

The MICHELIN Guide has made its much-anticipated debut in Qatar, unveiling its inaugural selection of 33 restaurants in Doha at a grand ceremony hosted at Katara Hall, Raffles Doha

Two Restaurants Awarded One MICHELIN Star

The Guide’s coveted One MICHELIN Star was awarded to two exceptional establishments:

  • Jamavar: Renowned for its elegant Indian cuisine, the restaurant is helmed by Chef Debdash Balaga. Signature dishes include the rich and aromatic Laal Maas, a slow-cooked lamb shank perfected over eight hours.
  • IDAM by Alain Ducasse: A sophisticated dining experience blending Alain Ducasse’s iconic French flair with Qatari influences, led by Chef Fabrice Rosso. Local spices and ingredients take centre stage, adding depth and vibrancy to every dish.

Four Restaurants Earn Bib Gourmand Distinction

The Bib Gourmand, awarded for exceptional value and quality, was granted to four diverse eateries:

  • Isaan: A lively Thai restaurant with open kitchens showcasing regional specialities.
  • Jiwan: Located within the Qatar National Museum, this spot offers contemporary twists on Qatari cuisine.
  • Argan: A cosy retreat in Souq Waqif, serving authentic Moroccan dishes at an outstanding value.
  • Hoppers: Bringing vibrant Sri Lankan and South Indian flavours from its acclaimed London origins.

Special Awards

The MICHELIN Guide also celebrated individuals who have redefined hospitality in Doha with three Special Awards:

  • Young Chef Award: Sirijan Saelee of Isaan, for her expert management of three dynamic Thai kitchens, each specialising in distinct cooking techniques.
  • Service Award: Paulo Bastos and the team at Morimoto, for their impeccable attention to detail and charismatic hospitality that leaves every guest feeling cherished.
  • Exceptional Cocktails Award: Robi Ratan at IDAM by Alain Ducasse, for creating imaginative and flavourful mocktails, using local fruits and spices to complement the dining experience.
