Amouage Café has opened a unique, limited-time experience at Alila Jabal Akhdar resort, inviting guests on a sensory journey that fuses the world of high perfumery with innovative gastronomy
Inspired by Amouage’s exquisite fragrance, Guidance 46 Exceptional Extrait, the café draws from the perfume’s core notes, including rose, pear, hazelnut, saffron, and vanilla, and reinterprets these into dishes that playfully balance both scent and taste. This thoughtful approach offers a fresh twist, taking diners beyond traditional culinary boundaries.
Set against the awe-inspiring backdrop of Oman’s Hajar Mountains, the café is perched on the Jabal Deck terrace at an altitude of two thousand metres. This cliffside setting not only provides a stunning view but also adds a sense of tranquillity and grandeur to the experience. Chef Pankaj Walia, the creative mind behind the café’s exclusive four-course menu, has crafted each dish to reflect Amouage’s heritage and artistry. Dishes such as the Alila Garden Surprise and Chocolate Opulence are crafted with ingredients sourced from the resort’s own hydroponic garden—an innovative, eco-friendly farm-to-table initiative.
The café also offers an array of imaginative mocktails that incorporate some of Amouage’s signature notes. Highlights include Jabal Bloom and Serene Sights, infused with ingredients like rose and frankincense, bringing a fragrant twist to traditional beverages. The multi-sensory dining journey is further enhanced by the artistic presentation: each menu item is introduced on beautifully designed cards showcasing artwork by Omani illustrator Ruqaiya Mazar, adding an elegant visual component to the experience.
