Review: MIA’s Restaurant, Santorini

Located in the heart of Oia, Santorini, MIA’s Restaurant combines modern elegance with Cycladic charm. Situated on a cliff overlooking the renowned Caldera, the destination offers stunning panoramic views of the Aegean Sea. The backdrop of Oia’s iconic whitewashed houses cascading down the hillside adds to the picturesque setting.

Inside, you’ll be greeted by a minimalist yet sophisticated space where crisp white walls form a canvas accented by rustic touches. The focus is on creating a relaxed yet refined atmosphere that allows breathtaking views and delicious food to take centre stage at MIA’s Restaurant.

Culinary highlights

Dining outdoors amidst Santorini’s enchanting view of pristine white residences, we navigated the restaurant’s sprawling menu celebrating the season’s bounty.

The Greek Salad was a vibrant mix of sun-kissed cherry tomatoes, confit for added sweetness, mingled with creamy feta, Greek yoghurt, crumbled black olive biscuit, and a drizzle of parsley oil for freshness. The Grilled Octopus with Santorinian Fava Mousse featured tender octopus paired with a smooth fava mousse, complemented by caramelised onion chutney.

Our main courses continued to impress and delight. The Oxtail Pastitsio showcased a gorgeous presentation, with delicate handmade agnolotti dumplings, sporting a delightful al dente bite, filled with a rich beef tail ragu and nestled in a bed of creamy Graviera cheese mousse from Naxos.

MIA’s Moussaka offered a modern twist on a classic, featuring Black Angus beef layered beneath crispy potato chips. A decadent béchamel sauce and rich beef broth gravy further provided additional layers of savoury goodness.

After enjoying our meal, we decided to skip desserts (much to our sweet tooth’s dismay) and set off to explore the island’s hidden gems.
